Editing with MediaSpace
When editing a video in MediaSpace, keep in mind that changes are not applied instantly. The video will need to be transcoded again, which can take some time. The duration of this process varies depending on the size of the video.
💡 Best Practice: We strongly recommend using the Save a Copy (Clipping) option rather than overwriting your video (Trimming). Creating a copy preserves your original file in case an error occurs during transcoding or processing.

Trimming and Clipping Media
Definitions
- Trimming: Removes unneeded parts from the video. Trimming permanently alters and overwrites the original source media.
Clipping: Extracts a segment from an existing video to create a brand-new copy, leaving the original video untouched.

- Timeline Placement: Click directly on the timeline to move the real-time marker to that exact spot.
Playback Pause: Play the video, pause at the desired timestamp, and drag the timeline edge handle to snap to the marker.
How to Create a Clip (Recommended)

- Set your desired start and end range on the timeline.
- Click Save a Copy.
